Source: Shodhganga: Temples and cult of Sri Rama in TamilnaduTirukkoli refers to one of the 108 divyadesas according to Priyavaccan Pillai’s compendium of the Ramayana based on the Nalayirativviyappirapantam.—Tiruk-koli is today known as Uraiyur. The Lord is Alakiyamanavalap Perumal. It is on the southern side of Kaviri within the Tiruchirappalli Township. A Chola princess, Kamalavalli, is said to have fallen in love with Ranganatha and did penance in this sthala. Tirupparalvar was born here.
