Source: Mandala Texts: Tshogchang: Dinner AlcoholThunlam (མཐུན་ལམ) refers to a “connection with the guest”.—Tshogchang sessions are often accompanied by conversations, jokes, songs and dances, and often go on for many hours. It is an opportunity for people to get together and also create a connection or thunlam (མཐུན་ལམ) with the guest. When the drinking session is over, the guest must give some cash presents or soelra (གསོལ་ར་) to the members who brought the tshogchang.
