Source: MDPI Books: The Ocean of HeroesSvayonija (स्वयोनिज) refers to “being born in one’s own birthplaces”, according to the 10th-century Ḍākārṇava-tantra: one of the last Tibetan Tantric scriptures belonging to the Buddhist Saṃvara tradition consisting of 51 chapters.—Accordingly: “Now, [the Blessed One] has taught [holy sites] such as the pīṭha and upapīṭha in sequence. [...] Girls who are in these places are of [the nature of] the innate, born in their own birthplaces (svayonija). In every place, he should discern [them, who are] joined with gnosis and reside in non-duality. [They are] born in the pīṭha [and other sites], corresponding to the division with arrows of the twelve circles. [...]”.
Tibetan Buddhism includes schools such as Nyingma, Kadampa, Kagyu and Gelug. Their primary canon of literature is divided in two broad categories: The Kangyur, which consists of Buddha’s words, and the Tengyur, which includes commentaries from various sources. Esotericism and tantra techniques (vajrayāna) are collected indepently.
