Śriyābīja (श्रियाबीज) refers to the “seed-syllable of sovereign glory”, according to Tantric texts such as the Kubjikāmata-tantra, the earliest popular and most authoritative Tantra of the Kubjikā cult.—ŚRĪṂ is the seed of the goddess Īśā who is also called Maṅgalā and is identified with the energy of Rudra (rudraśakti) to whom this seed-syllable corresponds. It is said to be brilliant like a million moons. According to the Śrīmatottara this is the seed-syllable of sovereign glory (śriyābīja). It gives royal power (śrī), satisfaction (puṣṭi), beauty, good fortune (saubhāgya) and pleases kings. It gives all people pleasure (āhlāda) and bestows every accomplishment. Without it, one cannot acquire wealth (dhanasiddhi).
