Śivakopodbhava (शिवकोपोद्भव) refers to “one born of the anger of Śiva” and is used to describe Vīrabhadra, according to the Śivapurāṇa 2.4.8 (“The battle between the gods and Asuras”).—Accordingly, as Brahmā narrated to Nārada: “[...] In the meantime Vīrabhadra reached the place furiously along with his heroic Gaṇas and approached Tāraka who professed to be a great hero. The leader of the Gaṇas, the strong one born of the anger of Śiva (śivakopodbhava), kept the gods in the rear and faced Tāraka desirous of fighting him. Then the Pramathas and the jubilant Asuras, fond of great battle, fought one another. [...]”
