sātaḷaṇēṃ (सातळणें).—sometimes sāntaḷaṇēṃ v c (taḷaṇēṃ) To dress (corn, pulse, chilies &c.) in a vessel on the fire with ghee or oil, to fry. The verb has some implication of superficialness, scantiness &c., and some restriction of object. 2 P To be affected with chilly dampness--a place or a thing.
