Source: academia.edu: Tessitori Collection I (history)Saṃgrāmavarṇana (संग्रामवर्णन) is the name of a work dealing with poetry and riddles.—The Saṃgrāmavarṇana (in Gujarati) is included in the collection of manuscripts at the ‘Vincenzo Joppi’ library, collected by Luigi Pio Tessitori during his visit to Rajasthan between 1914 and 1919.—The Saṃgrāmavarṇana represents collection of descriptive material. But the present manuscript illustrates the second trend of the Varṇaka-genre, i.e. works thematically focused, here on war. It contains descriptions of royal lineages, of weapons, of body protections for war, of musical instruments (1r12) in the form of lists of nouns, then descriptions of war actions and war noises in short sentences with verbs in the present tense.
The history of India traces the identification of countries, villages, towns and other regions of India, as well as mythology, zoology, royal dynasties, rulers, tribes, local festivities and traditions and regional languages. Ancient India enjoyed religious freedom and encourages the path of Dharma, a concept common to Buddhism, Hinduism, and Jainism.
