prēṣamantra (प्रेषमंत्र).—m S The name of a mantra amongst the yājñika Brahmans. prēṣa is Sending, and prēṣamantra is a Sending spell to mōkṣa Emancipation. Hence prē- ṣōccāra Utterance of this spell by a person on taking sannyāsa. prēṣa is further used, both in yajña and in polished parlance, in the sense of Inciting, stimulating, moving, or, simply suggesting. v kara.
