Source: academia.edu: Minor Chiefs and "Hero" in Ancient TamilakamPahṟuḷi is a name related to the historical geography and rulers of ancient Tamil Nadu, occuring in Sangam literature such as the Akanāṉūṟu and the Puṟanāṉūṟu.—Notes: cf. the strange medley of philology ‘palRuḷi’, paஃRḷi (VIS 415), River flowing in the lost Kumari continent (Puṟam. 9), the deluge of the Paḥṟuḷi River, the submerged mountain ranges and the Hill of Kumari is echoed in the Cilappatikāram (11.19-20) even if dated in the 5th century CE.
