1) To pursue, follow, attach oneself to, practise; वैखानसं किमनया व्रतमा प्रदानाद् व्यापाररोधि मदनस्य निषेवितव्यम् (vaikhānasaṃ kimanayā vratamā pradānād vyāpārarodhi madanasya niṣevitavyam) Ś.1.27.
2) To enjoy; निषेवते श्रान्तमना विविक्तम् (niṣevate śrāntamanā viviktam) Ś.5.5; Kumārasambhava 1.5.
3) To enjoy carnally; यथा यथा तामरसेक्षणा मया पुनः सरागं नितरां निषेविता (yathā yathā tāmarasekṣaṇā mayā punaḥ sarāgaṃ nitarāṃ niṣevitā) Bv.2.155; कौलिको विष्णुरूपेण राजकन्यां निषेवते (kauliko viṣṇurūpeṇa rājakanyāṃ niṣevate) Pañcatantra (Bombay) 1.22.
4) To resort to, inhabit, frequent; विपत्प्रतीकारपरेण मङ्गलं निषेव्यते भूतिस- मुत्सुकेन वा (vipatpratīkārapareṇa maṅgalaṃ niṣevyate bhūtisa- mutsukena vā) Kumārasambhava 5.76.
