For example, at Nirnūru there is a broken slab lying in front of the ruined Siva temple near the well called Cheṅgareḍḍi-bhāvi which seems to record the construction of a tank and gifts of land under it to several Brāhmaṇas, by Tani-Nāyakan, son of Bayirappe-Nāyakkar, for the merit of his parents. Mentions the names of the donees and the share of land that each one of them was assigned.
This inscription in the Tamil language belongs to Tribhuvanachakravartin Rājarājadeva of the Chola dynasty and is dated Śaka 1140.
