Neminātharāsa (नेमिनाथरास) is the name of a work by Puṇyaratna Muni dealing with Jain universal history such as the Jinas and related figures.—The Neminātharāsa (in Gujarati) is included in the collection of manuscripts at the ‘Vincenzo Joppi’ library, collected by Luigi Pio Tessitori during his visit to Rajasthan between 1914 and 1919.—The Neminātharāsa is a narrative poem telling Nemi’s life with dates for the main events: birth (see above), marriage. This decision is followed by a joyful atmosphere, until Nemi sees the suffering animals. Out of compassion for these living beings (Jīvadayā, 39), Nemi asks the chariot-driver to turn back. Rājimatī’s sorrow is then described, followed by the conversation with her friends (sakhī). They try to explain but she does not understand. finally Rājimatī renounces the world and becomes a nun. Here it is specified that she reached emancipation the first, before Nemi.
