Nāḍikākāla (नाडिकाकाल) refers to the “duration of the ghaṭikā”, according to Bhāskara’s commentary on the Āryabhaṭīya.—Accordingly, “'[...] Actually there is no such rule that the duration of the ghaṭikā (nāḍikākāla) is so long as it takes the vessel to discharge or to fill with sixty palas of water. Wise persons think that this is not so. How then? [...]”.
