Source: Wikisource: A dictionary of Sanskrit grammarNaḍādi (नडादि).—(l) a class of words headed by the word नड (naḍa) to which the tad.affix आयन (āyana) (फक् (phak)) is added in the sense of गोत्र (gotra) (grandchild and further descendants); e. g, नाडायनः, चारायणः (nāḍāyanaḥ, cārāyaṇaḥ); cf. Kas. on P. IV.1. 99; (2) a class of words headed by नड (naḍa) to which the affix ईय (īya) (छ) is added, together with the augment क (ka) placed after the word and before the affix, in the four senses prescribed in P. IV.2. 67-70; e.g. नडकीयम्, प्लक्षकीयम् (naḍakīyam, plakṣakīyam) ; cf. Kas. on P. IV. 2. 91.
Vyakarana (व्याकरण, vyākaraṇa) refers to Sanskrit grammar and represents one of the six additional sciences (vedanga) to be studied along with the Vedas. Vyakarana concerns itself with the rules of Sanskrit grammar and linguistic analysis in order to establish the correct context of words and sentences.
