Source: OpenEdition books: Vividhatīrthakalpaḥ (Kāvya)Miyāvaī (मियावई) is the wife of Sayāṇīa (king of Kauśāmbī), as mentioned in the Vividhatīrthakalpa by Jinaprabhasūri (13th century A.D.): an ancient text devoted to various Jaina holy places (tīrthas).—Accordingly, “King Pajjoa, fallen in love with Miyāvaī wife of Sayāṇīa, king of Kauśāmbī, attacks the city. Out of fear, Sayāṇīa died of colic. Miyāvaī uses cunning: she invokes the weakness of her son and the distance at which Pajjoa, his supposed protector, is located: the poison has time to kill if the doctor is far away, she tells him. He therefore agreed to fortify the city. For the comparison of textual details, cf. translation”.
