Source: What is India: Inscriptions of the ŚilāhārasKuṇḍideśa is the name of an deśa (administrative unit) under the rule of the Śilāhāra dynasty (r. 765-1029 A.D.).—The Kuṇḍideśa comprised the territory round modern Belgāon. The deśas were previously divided into rāṣṭras. The deśas were divided into viṣayas in North and south Koṅkaṇ. Several viṣayas are mentioned in the records of the Śilāhāras.
