Source: archive.org: Natya ShastraGhātamaraṇa (घातमरण).—“Death due to accidental injury” is caused by weapons, snake bite, taking poison, [attack of] ferocious animals, injury due to falling down from elephant, horse, chariot and other vehicles. Death (maraṇa) due to wound by weapons (ghāta) is to be represented by consequents (anubhāva) such as suddenly falling down on the ground and the like.
Natyashastra (नाट्यशास्त्र, nāṭyaśāstra) refers to both the ancient Indian tradition (shastra) of performing arts, (natya—theatrics, drama, dance, music), as well as the name of a Sanskrit work dealing with these subjects. It also teaches the rules for composing Dramatic plays (nataka), construction and performance of Theater, and Poetic works (kavya).
