Source: Pali Kanon: Pali Proper NamesA raja, probably of Magadha. He was a devout follower of Uddaka Ramaputta. In his retinue were Yamaka, Moggalla, Ugga, Navindaki, Gandhabba, and Aggivessa, all of whom were also followers of the same teacher (A.ii.180f).
Theravāda is a major branch of Buddhism having the the Pali canon (tipitaka) as their canonical literature, which includes the vinaya-pitaka (monastic rules), the sutta-pitaka (Buddhist sermons) and the abhidhamma-pitaka (philosophy and psychology).
