Carmmakāra (चर्म्मकार).—mfn.

(-raḥ-rā-raṃ) The shoe-maker, a currier or worker in leather, the offspring of the Chandala woman by a man of the fisherman caste, or of a Vaideha female by a Nishadha. f. (-rī) 1. The plant Charmaghas: see the preceding. 3. The wife of a Chamar. E. carmma skin or leather, and kāra who does or makes. carma tannimittaṃ pādukādi karoti kṛ-aṇ upamita samāsaḥ .
