Source: Pali Kanon: Pali Proper NamesAn eminent upasika. The Anguttara Nikaya (A.iv.259, also 347) records a visit paid by her to the Buddha at Jetavana. The Buddha then preached to her on the uposatha and the advantages of keeping the fast.
Theravāda is a major branch of Buddhism having the the Pali canon (tipitaka) as their canonical literature, which includes the vinaya-pitaka (monastic rules), the sutta-pitaka (Buddhist sermons) and the abhidhamma-pitaka (philosophy and psychology).
