Source: Brill: Śaivism and the Tantric TraditionsBhāvimantra (भाविमन्त्र) refers to the “future (propitiation of) mantras”, according to Kṣemarāja’s commentary on the Svacchandatantra verse 4.142a.—Accordingly, “He should not purify the [portion of karma] which is for the future propitiation of mantras (bhāvimantra-ārādhana-rūpa) for the purpose of supernatural powers; this is the meaning”.
Shaiva (शैव, śaiva) or Shaivism (śaivism) represents a tradition of Hinduism worshiping Shiva as the supreme being. Closely related to Shaktism, Shaiva literature includes a range of scriptures, including Tantras, while the root of this tradition may be traced back to the ancient Vedas.
