Ātvat (आत्वत्).—Possessed of the vowel आ; containing the vowel आ; e.g पाकः, दायः (pākaḥ, dāyaḥ) etc. cf. कर्षात्वतो घञोन्त उदात्तः (karṣātvato ghañonta udāttaḥ) P.VI. 1.159.
Vyakarana (व्याकरण, vyākaraṇa) refers to Sanskrit grammar and represents one of the six additional sciences (vedanga) to be studied along with the Vedas.
