Source: Wikisource: A dictionary of Sanskrit grammarAśvaghāsādi (अश्वघासादि).—Compounds like अश्वघास (aśvaghāsa) which cannot be strictly correct as चतुथींसमास (catuthīṃsamāsa), but can be षष्ठीसमास (ṣaṣṭhīsamāsa) if the word तदर्थ (tadartha) in the rule चतुर्थी तदर्थार्थ-बलिहितसुखरक्षितैः (caturthī tadarthārtha-balihitasukharakṣitaiḥ) be understood in the sense of 'meant for' a particular thing which is to be formed out of it: cf. विकृतिः प्रकृत्येति चेदश्वघासादीनामुपसं-ख्यानम् (vikṛtiḥ prakṛtyeti cedaśvaghāsādīnāmupasaṃ-khyānam) M.Bh. on II.1.36.
