1. To invoke blessings on a person, by scattering on his head rice with cynodon grass; அறுகிட்டு ஆசீர்வதித்தல். மறையோ ரறு கெடுப்ப [arugittu asirvathithal. maraiyo raru keduppa] (சேக்கிழார் நாயனார் [sekkizhar nayanar] 88).
2. To worship; பூசித்தல். அரசரப்பொழு தடிமிசை யறுகெடுத்திட [pusithal. arasarappozhu thadimisai yarugeduthida] (கலிங்கத்துப்பரணி [kalingathupparani] 251).
