2) Sorrow, repentance. E. ās with anu, kṛt aff. lyuṭ. Ii. n.

(-nam) 1) Taking a seat after another (has sat down); mahokṣaṃ vā mahājaṃ vā śrotriyāyopakalpayet . satkriyānvāsanaṃ svādubhojanaṃ sūnṛtaṃ vacaḥ [in which passage—Yājnav. 1. 109 —the reading satkriyānvāsanaṃ seems preferable to the reading satkriyāṃ cāsanaṃ, since the Mitākṣara explains: tasminnupaviṣṭe paścādupaveśanamanvāsanam, considering in the latter half of the Śloka the words as nominatives (with an ellipsis kartavyā &c.) satkiyā . anvāsanaṃ &c.].

2) A manufactory, a place where artisans work (‘karmaśālā ca kārūṇāmanvāsanamudāhṛtam Halāyudha; liter. ‘a by-shop’). E. anu and āsana. Iii. m. n.
