āṅkaṇakaḍavēṃ (आंकणकडवें) [or आंकडकडवें, āṅkaḍakaḍavēṃ].—n (aṅka & kāṇḍa) The introductory and recurring stanza of a song; burden, bob, chorus, refran. Hence, fig. Continual urging of a request which has been refused; continual reverting to a subject which has been settled; hanging on; harping upon: also a recurring word in one's speech, an expletive.
