P. of nir + ava + so 4 P.] Śūdras who are not expelled (from dish), i. e. those Śūdras who are not regarded so low as to defile the plates and vessels permanently in which they might have taken their meal. cf. पात्रादनिरवसितानाम् । यै (pātrādaniravasitānām | yai)>क्ते पात्रं संस्कारेण शुध्यति ते अनिरवरिताः । यैर्भुक्ते पात्रं संस्कारेणापि न सुध्यति ते निर- वसिताः शूद्राणामनिरवसितानाम् (kte pātraṃ saṃskāreṇa śudhyati te aniravaritāḥ | yairbhukte pātraṃ saṃskāreṇāpi na sudhyati te nira- vasitāḥ śūdrāṇāmaniravasitānām); (P.II.4.1 Sk.).

Sanskrit, also spelled संस्कृतम् (saṃskṛtam), is an ancient language of India commonly seen as the grandmother of the Indo-European language family (even English!). Closely allied with Prakrit and Pali, Sanskrit is more exhaustive in both grammar and terms and has the most extensive collection of literature in the world, greatly surpassing its sister-languages Greek and Latin.
