Source: archive.org: Shiva Purana - English TranslationAgnisvarūpa (अग्निस्वरूप) refers to one who has “the form of fire”, and is used to describe Śiva, according to the Śivapurāṇa 2.2.41.—Accordingly, as Viṣṇu and others eulogized Śiva:—“[...] obeisance to you, O lord, having the splendour of innumerable suns. Obeisance to you, the Bhava, the lord in the form of flavour and fluid. Obeisance to you who are every thing, who are in the form of fragrant earth. Obeisance to Him of great splendour, Him in the form of fire (i.e., agnisvarūpa)”.
The Purana (पुराण, purāṇas) refers to Sanskrit literature preserving ancient India’s vast cultural history, including historical legends, religious ceremonies, various arts and sciences.
