Source: Wikisource: A dictionary of Sanskrit grammarAbāghaka (अबाघक).—Not coming in the way of rules otherwise applicable; the word is used in connection with निपातन (nipātana) i. e. constituted or announced forms or specially formed words which are said to be अबाधक (abādhaka) i. e. not coming in the way of forms which could be arrived at by application of the regular rules. Siradeva has laid down the Paribhāṣā अबाधकान्यपि निपातनानि भवन्ति (abādhakānyapi nipātanāni bhavanti) defending the form पुरातन (purātana) in spite of Pāṇini's specific mention of the word पुराण (purāṇa) in the rule पुराणप्रोक्तेषु (purāṇaprokteṣu)o IV. 3. 105.
Vyakarana (व्याकरण, vyākaraṇa) refers to Sanskrit grammar and represents one of the six additional sciences (vedanga) to be studied along with the Vedas. Vyakarana concerns itself with the rules of Sanskrit grammar and linguistic analysis in order to establish the correct context of words and sentences.
